CommunityOS is a macOS chat app concept exploring how people could navigate multiple communities without losing track of the conversation. I structured the workspace around three levels: choosing a community, finding a topic and participating in a discussion.
A compact community switcher and grouped channels keep navigation separate from messages. The central conversation area prioritises reading and replying, with shared images, mentions and reactions providing context. A member directory makes moderators and participant presence visible alongside the discussion.
The contrast between dark sidebars and a light conversation panel establishes a clear focal point. This approach gives a dense community workspace structure while reserving most of the screen for the exchange itself.
